The OnQ Telecom
modules are available in three models. All are half width devices, mounting in the
left side of the service center. The 1 x 6 and 1 x 11 Basic Telecom Modules are for
installations where installation of KSU/PBX is not planned. More than 11 telephone
outlets can be supported by installing a second standard module.
If a key system (KSU) or PBX installation
is planned, the 1 x 11 KSU/PBX Module should be specified. If the KSU or PBX is part
of the initial installation (as opposed to being added later), then the proper KSU
Interface Kit will be required to interface with the listed KSU/PBX.
All telecom modules accept an
incoming 4 pair cable (preferably CAT 5) from the telephone network interface, and
distributes these four pairs to each outlet over individual cables. The modules also
accept a second 4 pair CAT 5 cable for high speed digital data services from the telephone
company such as ISDN or DSL. The signals on this cable are connected to a single CAT
5 cable going to one location or outlet where the high speed service is to be delivered.
The modules are designed to
directly interface to most security systems through an RJ-31x jack on the module.
They are also ready for the optional Telecom Surge Suppressor Unit. |
